    The Food Banks of Quebec entrusted Avenue 8 with the redesign of its website. As an important tool in the fight against hunger in Quebec, the platform was created to centralize information for donors, companies, volunteers, and partners. It was also important to allow people in need to easily find help near their homes.

  • Key Numbers

    For more than 25 years, the Food Banks of Quebec has represented and supported 19 regional food banks, the Moisson members, which in turn supply some 1,064 community organizations. More than 1.7 million emergency food aid requests per month are processed. The organization ensures the equitable sharing of food among its members throughout the province and that resources, expertise and information are pooled in order to respond effectively to Quebecois struggling with poverty.

  • The Challenge

    Our goal was to design an up to date and sustainable interactive hub for the organization. This was a major challenge given the diverse audiences and the amount of information to be conveyed. It was necessary to create simple and innovative solutions which were flexible enough to evolve and still remain easily managed by the BAQ team.

      Our proposal focused on enhancing the content by creating an inspiring and pleasant graphic universe, representing the values ​​of respect, teamwork, transparency, and accountability that drive the Food Banks of Quebec.

    • Simplified Content

      A great deal of work was done to synthesize and vulgarise all the content present on the site. Photos, graphics, and videos were used to highlight testimonials, statistics and conclusions from studies.

    • Powerful Geolocation Tool

      The platform allows fast geolocation of food aid agencies and provides details about the services offered by each. The information can be updated by the organizations via private access to the site.

    • Optimized Donation Process

      Donating online has never been easier. A clear and consise interface provides dollar amounts that are also expressed in meals provided to allow donors to better understand the impact of their actions. The simplicity also involves automated transaction management and the automatic issuance of a tax receipt for qualifying donations.

    • Raising Awareness

      The “Share” page allows people who are passionate about the cause to easily share statistics, videos or graphics on social networks. Beyond the ongoing fundraising campaigns, these actions also create strong word-of-mouth awareness on Facebook and Twitter throughout the year.
